The three candidates for the federal leadership of the Liberal Democrats - Sir Menzies Campbell MP, Simon Hughes MP and Chris Huhne MP - are participating in a Scottish Leadership Hustings, taking place in Edinburgh on Monday 13th February 2006.
Dundee Liberal Democrat Councillor Helen Dick has welcomed the recent criticism of the Government over the failings of the child and working family tax credit system. Cllr Dick has previously highlighted constituents' concerns about the failings of Labour's Tax Credits system, and, in particular, the overpayments some constituents have been asked to repay following failures in the administration of the system.
Dundee Liberal Democrats today reinforced the long-standing Liberal Democrat view that no more nuclear power stations - which have cost the taxpayer billions of pounds, are environmentally damaging, high risk and unpopular with the popular - should be built.

Dundee Liberal Democrats have welcomed the news that figures released yesterday (30th January 2006) by the Scottish Executive show that there was an 8% decrease in the number of people killed in road accidents in Scotland from the 2003 to 2004 figures; the second lowest figure for 50 years.
