Dundee Liberal Democrats have announced that well-known Dundee law student, McManus 2013 Citizen of the Year and Dundee football referee, Daniel Coleman has been selected as Scottish Liberal Democrat candidate for Dundee West in advance of next year's Westminster General Election.
Scottish Liberal Democrat Alison McInnes MSP today said that SNP ministers are failing the college students who need their help the most after new figures revealed that Dundee & Angus College only received a fraction of the bursary funds requested.
Figures published today by the Scottish Funding Council show the extent of unmet demand for student bursaries. Colleges asked for £14.7m to meet demand from students but will receive only £3.5m. Five colleges which requested support will receive no funding.
