Cllr Fraser Macpherson congratulates Al-Maktoum Institute on Open Day initiative

West End Dundee City Councillor Fraser Macpherson has congratulated the Al-Maktoum Institute for Arabic and Islamic Studies for its most recent initiative - an Open Day taking place on Saturday 18th March, to enable all in the local community to visit the Institute and see what the Institute is all about.

The Institute's buildings in Blackness Road are in Cllr Macpherson's ward and he said today, "I think this is an excellent initiative by the Institute and will allow local people to get an insight of the Institute's work. The Institute's proposals for a Cultural Centre on the site of the former Logie secondary school in the West End will further build the Institute's integral role within the local community and will get a great resource for both the West End and wider Dundee community."

The Open Day is taking place between 12 noon and 4pm on Saturday 18th March at its buildings at 124 Blackness Road.
