'SNP claims about LibDems show they are worried'

Dundee Liberal Democrat spokesperson Allan Petrie today (Tuesday 19th September) said that the comments of the Dundee East SNP MP criticising LibDem Green Tax proposals had "more to do with their fears about the growing LibDem presence in Dundee than any form of real analysis of the Liberal Democrats' plans for a Green Tax Switch."

"The SNP has tried to criticise the LibDem tax proposals which are a real attempt to help tackle the real environmental issues facing us," said Mr Petrie, a former SNP Dundee councillor.

"The SNP has, of course, no idea as to how it would tackle such issues and has concentrated on a whole series of promises to spend, spend, spend whilst cutting taxes, which anyone with half an eye can see simply doesn't add up.

"Its obvious that the SNP is running scared of growing Liberal Democrat strength, both here in Dundee and across Scotland."
