Raymond welcomes recycling scheme improvements for Broughty Ferry

Raymond Lawrie, Convener of the Dundee Liberal Democrats, has welcomed the introduction of the latest City Council's household kerbside recycling scheme to Broughty Ferry.

The scheme has been proven through a pilot scheme involving 6450 households throughout the City. There is only one box to put all recyclable waste into, including aluminium cans, glass bottles, jars and some plastics.

"These boxes are quite practical" said Raymond. "After all, no-one has the space for four or five different full size wheelie bins."

Householders are asked to put the green boxes out on the kerbside and the collection crew sorts the contents of the box into separate compartments in the collection vehicle.

"I am very pleased that Broughty Ferry is now part of this initiative" Raymond continued. "I am sure the people of Broughty Ferry will wholeheartedly support this scheme as it is a significant step towards the City reaching its environmental targets."
