Alison McInnes adds voice in support of Local Business Growth Fund

Alison McInnes, Liberal Democrat NE Scotland list candidate has today (Wednesday 21st March) added her voice backing plans to introduce a Local Business Growth Fund.

Nicol Stephen, Leader of Scottish Liberal Democrats has promised to introduce this new scheme if elected First Minister. The scheme will ensure that where a local authority raises extra business rates by encouraging business to locate or start locally, a Scottish Liberal Democrat government will allow the local council to keep 50% of the increase.

Alison said, "This is just the kind of positive approach local councils welcome. To be allowed to keep more business rates revenue locally means it can be re-invested in our communities. This scheme will foster stronger local economies."
