Dundee Liberal Democrats have today announced their by-election candidates for Strathmartine and Lochee Wards where there are by-elections on 3rd October due to the resignation of Cllr John Alexander and the sad passing of Cllr Charlie Malone.

The Liberal Democrats already hold one of the Strathmartine Ward council seats where Councillor Daniel Coleman was elected in 2022 and will be strong contenders for the vacancy.
Jenny said, “Councillor Daniel Coleman has a proven track record of working for everyone in Strathmartine Ward, and as the new Strathmartine councillor, I will bring the same level of strong commitment as Daniel to help tackle the issues affecting our local area.”
The Liberal Democrat candidate in Lochee Ward is Outi Maattanen-Bourke. Married with one daughter, Outi has lived in Dundee for 6 years. Born in Finland, Outi has previously lived in Italy and Malawi and has worked as a journalist.
Outi said, “ I would like to be part of making Dundee a lively, thriving city with good public services including clean streets, good transport, more help for people with drug addiction, and good quality services for the elderly and people with disabilities which would help to combat loneliness and isolation. Our parks and green areas must be actively maintained for everyone to enjoy.”
