Cllr Fraser Macpherson supports marking of Workers' Memorial Day

Cllr Fraser Macpherson, Dundee LibDem Group Leader today (Friday 28th April) joined local trades union officials, politicians across the political spectrum and others at Discovery Point in the City Centre to mark Workers' Memorial Day.

Dundee Lord Provost John Letford planted a tree and unveiled a memorial bench as a tribute to the many people who have been killed in industrial accidents.

Cllr Macpherson said, "I congratulate the organisers of the event for locally highlighting - in a permanent way - Workers' Memorial Day. It should be remembered that every year more people are killed at work than in wars."
