Cllr Helen Dick says Energy Saving Week has been "really positive"

Dundee Liberal Democrats have today (Sunday 29th October) said that the past week's "Energy Saving Week" has shown how vital it is to save energy.

The initiative coincided with new figures that showed that the UK is top of the waste league when it comes to leaving electrical equipment on standby.

Dundee City Council's Liberal Democrat Vice Convener of Environmental Services & Sustainability, Cllr Helen Dick, said, "Energy saving is about changing our daily habits and comes down to simple steps like not leaving lights switched on or leaving televisions and other electrical items on standby.

"Energy Saving Week has highlighted the importance of this issue."
