Dundee Liberal Democrats praise new City Council Handyperson Service

Dundee Liberal Democrats today (Tuesday 18th July) praised the introduction of a new service aimed at helping older people in Dundee with household maintenance and home safety matters.

Dundee City Council Liberal Democrat Finance Convener Cllr Fraser Macpherson said, ''This new scheme from the Council's Social Work Department will help older people with tasks about the house that they may find difficultly in undertaking themselves.

''The Social Work Department deserves praise for launching such a service which will be of invaluable help to older citizens across our City.''

Examples of services the Handyperson Service can assist with include :

  • Changing Lightbulbs
  • Replacing Batteries
  • Help with Smoke Alarm maintenance
  • Help with electrical items
