Dundee Liberal Democrats in force at Scottish Liberal Democrat Conference
A team of Dundee LibDems attended the highly successful Scottish Liberal Democrat Conference this weekend in Aviemore.
Dr Liz Dick, a Dundee LibDem delegate, spoke in the debate on managing radioactive waste, in which the Scottish LibDems reiterated their strong opposition to the construction of new nuclear power stations.
Dundee LibDem Council Group Leader Fraser Macpherson took the opportunity to congratulate Willie Rennie MP, the Liberal Democrat victor of the sensational Dunfermline and West Fife by-election, where he overturned a Labour majority of over 11 500.
Fraser said, "It was a great pleasure to congratulate Willie on his superb result for the Scottish Liberal Democrats. I was very pleased at the Dundee contribution to Willie's campaign.
"This has been a superb Conference for the Scottish Liberal Democrats - the party is in great shape and looking forward to further strides forward at the 2007 elections."
