Dundee Liberal Democrats today (Monday 3rd March) condemned 12 000 job cuts at the Department for Work and Pensions, which they said would impact on services to the most vulnerable.

Nationally, Liberal Democrat Shadow Work and Pensions Secretary, Danny Alexander said, "At a time when the amount of money being lost through official error at the DWP is rising, it is reckless to be cutting more staff."

Here in Dundee, Cllr Helen Dick, LibDem councillor for Strathmartine Ward, said, "About 12,000 jobs will go over the next three years in the Department for Work and Pensions. This is a disaster for those needing assistance to find employment. It is another Westminster Labour Government disaster waiting to happen."
