LibDems back calls for proper investment in marine renewable technology

Dundee LibDems have today (Wednesday 2nd April) backed comments by Scottish Liberal Democrat Leader Nicol Stephen MSP, who has demanded that the First Minister commits to sustained investment in marine renewable technology.

The First Minister is expected to make a repeat announcement - for the fifth time - of a £10million prize for advances in renewable energy in his speech to the National Geographic Society in Washington.

Nicol Stephen said, "Marine renewable technology needs sustained investment, not recycled gimmicks."

Here in Dundee, City Council LibDem Group Leader, Cllr Fraser Macpherson, said, "This is another example of Alex Salmond's capacity for spin and gimmick. Substance would be a welcome change."
