Dundee Liberal Democrats today (Friday 20th April) welcomed Scottish LibDem plans to help families make their homes more energy friendly.

Communities across Scotland will benefit from positive, practical policies, like installing wind turbines and solar panels to cut their electricity bills and more action on home recycling with a new 70% target.

Liberal Democrat Leader Nicol Stephen plans to turn 40 000 houses per year into energy friendly homes, with grant support and £300 tax rebates for individuals who support this renewable energy revolution.

Additionally, Friends of the Earth today confirmed that the Liberal Democrat manifesto is the greenest of the main parties.

Nicol said, "We are making the environment a priority in this campaign.

"Our Energy Friendly Homes plan will help families across Scotland cut fuel bills, tackle climate change and reduce waste. We will ensure families in Scotland live in warmer, greener houses."

Locally, here in Dundee, LibDem spokesperson Murray Dick said, "Investing in energy efficient homes is a sensible and practical way forward. The environment is at the heart of our manifesto."
