News that Scottish Liberal Democrat Leader, Nicol Stephen MSP, has unveiled plans to establish an Investment and Innovation Agency if he becomes First Minister after this year's Scottish Parliament elections has today (Thursday 1st March) been warmly welcomed by Dundee LibDems.

Mr Stephen said the organisation would work with businesses and universities to raise research investment to international standards and reclaim "Scotland's reputation for inventiveness and innovation."

Here in Dundee, Murray Dick, Dundee LibDem spokesperson, said, "This is an excellent proposal that will help stimulate the amount of research investment to, in turn, ensure business growth and excellence in our universities across Scotland."
