Dundee LibDems welcome date announcement for iTrip legalisation

7 Oct 2006

Following news earlier this summer that telecoms regulator Ofcom had decided to end a ban on iTrip, a popular iPod accessory, Dundee Liberal Democrats today (Saturday 7th October) welcomed news that the iTrip could be legalised by early December.

Ofcom said that it was reacting to consumer demand in legalising the iTrip, used to connect MP3 players to radios or in-car entertainment systems.

Convener of Dundee Liberal Democrats, Raymond Lawrie, said, "It was good to hear Ofcom's announcement on Thursday that it is taking the steps necessary to get the iTrip legalised before Christmas. Many of have wondering why the iTrip was not legal in the first place. This is a victory for commonsense."
