Murray Dick wants gas price cut to be "more than a one-off"

Dundee Liberal Democrats today (Monday 12th February) welcomed last week's announcement of a cut in gas prices but warned that it should be more than a one off reduction.

Liberal Democrat Shadow Trade and Industry Secretary, Susan Kramer MP said, "This is a welcome move that will begin to undo some of the big increases that have hit bill payers recently.

"The decision to offer support to some of the most vulnerable people is also to be applauded.

"However, this should form the first part of a downward trend in bills, rather than a one-off reduction."

Locally, here in Dundee, LibDem spokesperson Murray Dick said, "It is good to see a reduction in gas prices especially for many citizens who have been badly hit by the large increases in recent times - this has especially caused hardship for elderly people. It is important that the downward move on energy prices is maintained in the future."
