Dundee LibDems support tax rebate for energy measures

Dundee LibDems today (Wednesday 2nd May) backed Liberal Democrat plans to offer every household in Dundee up to £300 back from their local tax bills for installing energy efficiency and microgeneration measures.

LibDem spokesperson Claire Matthew said, "Liberal Democrats want to give homeowners who install new microgeneration devices like micro wind turbines and solar panels a one-off £200 rebate on local tax bills. Those who invest in energy efficiency measures will get a further £100.

"By helping homeowners install their own wind turbines, solar panels, and energy efficiency measures we will cut fuel bills and pollution.

"This will be great news for local people in Dundee who will see their energy bills come down, receive a generous tax rebate and at the same time they do their bit to protect the environment.

"It is radical proposals like this that put the Scottish Liberal Democrats at the forefront of the fight against climate change."
