Following on from a tremendous Scottish Liberal Democrat Conference on Saturday, Dundee Liberal Democrats today (Monday 16th October) said that Nicol Stephen was on course to be Scotland's next First Minister.

"The future for Scotland rests with the Liberal Democrats," said Dundee LibDem local party secretary Michael Charlton. "Nicol Stephen will be the dynamic First Minister Scotland needs."

At Saturday's Conference, Nicol Stephen promised a unique programme of policies that would improve education, environment and the economy. He said the party had "torn up the rule book that said we must always be the minority party".

Mr Stephen insisted: "We are the party with momentum in Scotland, gaining support amongst young people, winning votes in new parts of Scotland, perplexing pundits, mystifying the media, but energising the electorate with fresh hope and fair ideals."
