Claire Matthew supports call over hospital food

Following on from the recent Audit Scotland report into catering for hospital patients, Dundee Liberal Democrats have today (Sunday 3rd December) welcomed comments by Liberal Democrat Health spokesperson Euan Robson MSP calling for the best possible hospital food, consistently across Scotland.

Audit Scotland's report found that although catering services are offering an improved level of choice to patients, NHS boards still need to do more to improve the nutritional care of patients.

Mr Robson said, "We want to see the same sort of healthy eating programme introduced in hospitals as was introduced in our schools with the 'Hungry for Success' initiative."

Locally, Dundee LibDem spokesperson Claire Matthew said, "NHS Tayside is doing an excellent job and its vital that there is consistently good nutritious food in all of Scotland's hospitals."
