Murray Dick slams Labour's failure on Pension Credits

Dundee Liberal Democrats have today (Wednesday 22nd November) slammed the Labour Government's failure to properly administer Pension Credits. Statistics released today by the Department for Work and Pensions revealing a 2.6% rise in the level of fraud and error in pension credits.

Liberal Democrat Shadow Work and Pensions Secretary, David Laws MP said, "It is unacceptable but hardly surprising that fraud and error in pensions credit payments have risen to this high level. The fact that this rise is due entirely to official error would suggest we now have a pensions system so complex that even government officials cannot understand it."

Locally here in Dundee, LibDem spokesperson Murray Dick said, "The Labour government has created a highly complex pension system. A proper Citizen's Pension without the stigma of means testing is the proper way forward."
