Dundee LibDems say SNP Government should stop stalling on renewables

Dundee Liberal Democrats have today (Tuesday 25th March) backed comments by the Party's Scottish Energy spokesperson Liam McArthur MSP in giving support to the Scottish Renewables campaign for Ministers to get started on a zero carbon economy.

Mr McArthur has urged the Government to stop stalling on key projects, such as the east coast interconnector, which would help unlock Scotland's renewables potential.

Mr McArthur said, ""In addition to taking improving energy efficiency much more seriously, I want to see Ministers taking action on the east coast interconnector cable.

"The link is not just vital to Scotland's renewables industry, but is needed if we are to show that we mean business when it comes to tackling climate change."

Here in Dundee, LibDem councillor for Strathmartine Ward, Cllr Helen Dick, said, "We need to see real action by the Scottish Government in terms of delivering energy from renewable sources."
