Chris Hall says e-passport problems show ID cards project doomed to failure

Dundee Liberal Democrats today (Thursday 8th February) said that a National Audit Office report highlighting flaws with the new electronic passport microchips merely confirmed that the Labour Government's highly expensive ID cards project was "doomed to failure."

Liberal Democrat Shadow Home Secretary, Nick Clegg MP said, "Once again this Government's fascination with whizz-bang technological solutions appears to be running well ahead of what technology is really able to do."

Here in Dundee, LibDem spokesperson Chris Hall said, "This NAO report shows how doomed to failure Labour's ID cards project is. It is a huge waste of public money."
