Dundee LibDems pleased public back Liberal Democrat constitutional position
Dundee LibDems today (Saturday 31st March) welcomed news that a Telegraph/YouGov poll has found that a majority (51%) of Scots would vote in favour of keeping the current Scottish Parliament in a referendum, compared to only 28% who would vote for independence.
By a majority of more than two to one (60% to 24%) Scots back the LibDem position that the Scottish Parliament should get more powers. 52% of people say they think having a Labour/LibDem coalition executive has worked well (34% disagree). S
Scottish LibDem Election Director Tavish Scott MSP welcomed the findings, saying, "Across Scotland people are telling us that they want to see the Scottish Parliament strengthened and renewed, but remaining within the UK."
Locally, here in Dundee, Dundee West Liberal Democrat candidate, Michael Charlton, said, "Whilst the SNP and Labour argue amongst themselves, the Scottish Liberal Democrats are putting forward a positive vision for Scotland."
