Cllr Helen Dick joins call for Climate Change Bill

Dundee Liberal Democrats have today (Tuesday 5th September) welcomed news that the party, along with representatives of several NGOs and other political parties, has written to the Prime Minister calling for a law on climate change to be promised in the next Queen's Speech.

Commenting on the letter to the Prime Minister, which calls for a Climate Change Bill to help reduce CO2 emissions, Liberal Democrat Shadow Environment Secretary, Chris Huhne MP said, "A climate change Bill would be a useful tool in the fight against global warming."

Locally, Dundee City Council's Liberal Democrat Vice Convener of Environmental Services and Sustainability, Cllr Helen Dick, added, "The Liberal Democrats are leading the way in emphasising the importance of tackling the issue of climate change."
