Dundee LibDems highlight World Debt Day 2006

Dundee LibDems have today (Tuesday 16th May) lent their support to the demands to an end to debt slavery on "World Debt Day."

World Debt Day 2006 demands action on developing world debt. It argues that the burden of debt on the world's poor is unacceptable.

Locally, Dundee LibDem secretary Michael Charlton said, "The organisers of 'World Debt Day' are rightly demanding an end to the scandal of poor countries paying money to the rich world. This is an issue that should be at the top of the political agenda."
