Dundee LibDems focus on safety in the home

20 Jan 2007

Dundee East Liberal Democrat parliamentary spokesperson Dr Clive Sneddon has today (Saturday 20th January) supported CORGI, local campaigns in Dundee and John Barrett, Liberal Democrat MP for Edinburgh West, in their efforts to ensure zero tolerance of carbon monoxide deaths.

Clive said, "Carbon monoxide from unserviced gas appliances can kill silently.

"All it takes to stop this happening is to have all gas appliances in the home serviced regularly by a CORGI-registered gas installer; it is possible also to fit audible CO detectors in the house as a further precaution, provided this does not replace servicing your appliances annually."

Clive concluded "I would encourage all Dundee residents to have their gas appliances checked this month by a CORGI registered gas installer."
