Dundee LibDem Convener's upbeat message for 2007

Dundee Liberal Democrat local party Convener Raymond Lawrie today (Sunday 31st December) gave an upbeat review of progress of progress by the LibDems in the City over the past year and said it augured well for next May's parliamentary and City Council elections.

"We have seen substantial progress for the party during 2006 both nationally and locally," said Raymond.

"Following the party's stunning success at the Dunfermline and West Fife by-election, we have seen Scottish Liberal Democrats make further progress at local level - stunning council by-election successes in Glasgow and Inverness show it is the Liberal Democrats who are on the move.

Raymond concluded, "Here in Dundee, the local party is in excellent shape and is well prepared for May's elections. I have little doubt that we will see considerable Dundee Liberal Democrat progress in May and an enhanced LibDem group on Dundee City Council."
