Dundee Lib Dems launch Anti Dog Fouling campaign

Dundee Liberal Democrats have launched a campaign to make dog owners clean up after their dogs. This follows complaints about this issue from constituents of Councillor Helen Dick (Strathmartine Ward) and Cllr Fraser Macpherson (Tay Bridges Ward) in Dundee.

Dog owners can receive a Fixed Penalty of £40 from Dundee City Council for not cleaning up after their pets, rising to £60 if not paid within 28 days. Local Authority Officers and Police Officers issue these penalties. Certain offenders can also be reported to the Procurator Fiscal and may be fined up to £500 if convicted.

Cllr Helen Dick said today (15th August 2005), "The vast majority of dog owners do clean up after their dogs, but the ones who don't leave a mess that is a health hazard and causes many residents problems."

The Liberal Democrats have created a poster that can be printed and displayed in your window or at the edge of your property. To get your poster just click below, and download your copy.
