Dundee City Council Finance Convener says services properly funded in the City
Dundee City Council Finance Convener Cllr Fraser Macpherson today (Monday 12th February) said that the City Council's service proposals for the new financial year will be "fully costed and properly funded." This follows claims by independent councillor Ian Borthwick about the cost of various service improvements councillors were campaigning for.
"Mr Borthwick has called into question the ability to fund projects in advance of his seeing the administration's capital and revenue budget proposals in detail, when they will be discussed at committee," said Cllr Macpherson.
"For example, the City Council has recently secured additional funding of over £1.6 million for various capital programmes, which the administration will put to good use in communities across Dundee, not least in roads improvements."
"There is a responsibility upon councillors to work hard for local communities and make the case for improvements in their local areas and I and my colleague will always put in every effort to secure much-needed improvements for local communities," concluded Cllr Macpherson.
