The announcement by Tory Leader Dave Cameron to scrap the climate change levy has been dismissed by Dundee Liberal Democrats as "yet another example of more empty rhetoric from the Tories."

"Cameron's visit to Norway last week was just a publicity stunt," commented Michael Charlton, Dundee LibDem local party Secretary. "The Tories have a shabby environmental record. The Tories' weak policies and contradictory actions include attempting to water down environmental legislation, the party's poor voting record on green issues and Tory MPs failing to sign motions on climate change."
