Scottish Tourism Week 2011Local MSP, Alison McInnes is backing North East Tourism during Scottish Tourism Week which runs from 28 February to 4 March.

Commenting after signing up to support the event, Mrs McInnes said:

"I represent North East Scotland, a region that relies heavily on the tourism industry to drive the economy particularly in Angus and Dundee.

"There are still many opportunities to grow the sector and I welcome the support of Scottish Tourism Forum in delivering that. This week is aimed at raising awareness of tourism as Scotland's most sustainable industry.

"Dundee and Angus have many wonderful attractions to boast about - world class golf courses, idyllic beaches, a vibrant arts scene and a diverse and cosmopolitan city."

The theme for this year is "Tourism the Heartbeat for Scotland".
