Dundee LibDems welcome news on climate change

Local MSP and Liberal Democrat spokesperson for climate change, Alison McInnes, is backing Climate Week which runs from 21 - 27 March 2011.

Commenting, Mrs McInnes said:

"One of the biggest challenges facing Scotland - indeed the whole world - today is dealing with climate change, so I'm delighted to add my support to the Climate Week initiative.

"Figures show that the vast majority of Scots recognise the urgency of cutting carbon emissions to help prevent damage to our natural environment, yet all too often people remain reluctant to believe that their actions can make a difference. Climate Week is aimed at altering that, highlighting changes that businesses, schools, charities and communities across the country are already making to do their bit.

"Climate Week is a great opportunity for people to think about what they can do to play their part. Even if it's something small like leaving the car at home one day a week, recycling more, or looking for local produce when you go shopping, it's important to remember that individual actions will soon add up to big carbon savings."
