Cole-Hamilton criticises lack of trains available after Scotland v Ukraine

Scottish Liberal Democrat leader Alex Cole-Hamilton said:

"Unless this is swiftly resolved, passengers will be facing a summer of chaos on Scotland's railways. Ministers need to make a deal happen.

"For a match like Scotland v Ukraine you would normally expect extra trains to be running, not fewer. There's no chance thousands of fans will be able to get from Hampden Park to Queen Street station in time for the last train. That means thousands more cars on the road or fans forced to fork out for expensive taxis and hotels.

"If the cancellations carry on I am also concerned about what the impact will be on the Edinburgh festival. People travel from all over the country to attend but if they can't rely on trains to get home then we are far less likely to see the crowds that the local economy needs to thrive after two fallow years."
