Liberal Democrat Scottish affairs spokesperson Jamie Stone has criticised the Tory Government for attempting to push the Brexit deal through with no time for MPs to scrutinise the legislation.

Commenting Mr Stone said:

"The Withdrawal Agreement Bill is to be pushed through Parliament at an unholy gallop.

"The Tory Government has showed yet more disregard for Parliament as it aims to force the Withdrawal Agreement through Parliament in just three days. The Bill is 110 pages long, the biggest decision the country has faced in decades will be debated in just three day, and the Chancellor has refused to assess the economic dangers of the Prime Minister's Brexit plan.

"It's almost as if he knows this deal will be terrible for the economy.

"The Bill also gives no provision to Parliament to stop a no deal Brexit if negotiations on our future relationship are unfinished by the end of December next year proving that this Bill is nothing more than no deal Brexit by the back door, and this from a Government claiming to be 'taking back control'.

"The Conservative Government is trying to crash this Bill through Parliament before anyone realises how bad it is, but the Liberal Democrats demand better and will continue to fight to stop Brexit. Our priority is to secure a People's Vote with the option to stay in the EU."
