Commenting on a new poll which shows that only 13% of Scots back SNP plans to ditch the pound, constitutional relations spokesperson Wendy Chamberlain said:

"Even senior nationalists have acknowledged that the shift to a new currency would bring uncertainty, risk and chaos.

"The Scottish public can see that SNP plans to scrap the pound are nonsensical.

"Scots want the Scottish Government to be focused on the problems in our schools, NHS and social care. Not more time wasted over independence."
