Commenting on a new report from Healthcare Improvement Scotland criticising NHS Tayside after breast cancer patients were given lower doses of chemotherapy than patients elsewhere in Scotland, Scottish Liberal Democrat health spokesperson Alex Cole-Hamilton MSP said:

"While experts have confirmed that the risk to patients is small, this will nonetheless be a concerning time for those in Tayside who have been treated for breast cancer.

"Patients and their families will need assurances about how this unfolded and what is being done to ensure that breast cancer treatment is consistent and effective across Scotland."
