Commenting on concerns about the cost of policing Donald Trump's visit to Scotland, Scottish Liberal Democrat justice spokesperson Liam McArthur MSP said:

"The UK Government contributed to the policing costs for the G8 Summit at Gleneagles. It seems appropriate therefore that they take on a fair share of the cost this time of hosting one of the most internationally unpopular presidents of all time. One which they invited.

"Most people in Scotland don't want him here and they certainly don't want to pay to police his golf getaway."
