Speaking ahead of tomorrow's Stage 3 vote on the budget, Scottish Liberal Democrat Leader Willie Rennie said:

"This budget is a missed opportunity. It fails to invest the necessary funds to transform education and make a step change in mental health services. Without the investment required we cannot give the budget our full support.

"Our two MSPs for Orkney and Shetland will support budget funds for their incredibly important internal ferries. Our MSPs prevented the collapse of the Islands' lifeline ferry services as a result of an unfulfilled SNP commitment.

"We will continue to make the case for protecting public services and investing in people and skills to boost the economy."
