Scot Lib Dems: Warm words on fuel poverty is not enough

Responding to the Winter Mortality statistics showing an increase in the number of deaths during winter, Scottish Liberal Democrat housing spokesperson Caron Lindsay said:

"A rise in the number of deaths is a distressing warning to us all. It is simply unacceptable that in Scotland in the 21st century people, particularly the most vulnerable, are living in unacceptably damp, cold homes. The SNP should be reminded that their warm words on fuel poverty alone do nothing to heat Scotland's cold homes.

"Liberal Democrats want to see urgent action, not least by embedding responsibility for tackling fuel poverty right across government so together Ministers can finally deliver the tailored responses that communities across Scotland need."
