Responding to today's reports on the SNP's plan to delay their plans for another independence referendum, Scottish Liberal Democrat leader Willie Rennie MSP said:

"People of Scotland won't be fooled by this SNP tactic. They are keeping the referendum on the table because for the SNP will always be independence first and foremost.

"If the First Minister wants to respect the message she was sent on June 8th then she must cancel her plans for another divisive independence until at least the end of this parliamentary term.

"It seems like the same secretive SNP committee can decide on any wet Wednesday in 2019 to bring it back again."
