Responding to a new report from Ernst and Young which suggests that the Scottish economy is stuck in the "slow lane", Scottish Liberal Democrat economy spokesperson Carolyn Caddick said:

"Under the SNP, Scotland's economy is teetering on the edge of recession, even as the rest of the UK grows.

"Every Liberal Democrat elected on Thursday will prioritise jobs and the economy, not a divisive independence referendum.

"When voters head to the polls in places like East Dunbartonshire, Edinburgh West, North East Fife, the North East, Argyll & Bute and the Highlands, they will remember the harm that the SNP have done to jobs and the Scottish economy."
