On a visit to Dundee today, Scottish Liberal Democrat leader Willie Rennie MSP has said that heartlands for the SNP like Dundee are prone to Lib Dem scalps.

Commenting Mr Rennie said:

"Scottish Liberal Democrats are on the rise and we're intent on winning. Liberal Democrat Councillors and campaigners across Scotland make a difference in local communities and are in tune with local people.

"In Dundee we have fantastic candidates taking the fight straight towards the SNP in their heartlands and come May we are ready to claim a few scalps. The announcement of the general election last week has only added to that and activists in Dundee and around Scotland are relishing the upcoming elections.

"This year people in Dundee and across Scotland will face a simple choice. Do they want to see another cheerleader for independence or do they want a true local champion who will put their community first? Council candidates in Dundee will put Dundee first and not serve to the whim of the SNP. "
