Leader of the Scottish Liberal Democrats, Willie Rennie, has said thatWillie RennieWillie Rennie the best way to keep Standard Life in Scotland is to keep Scotland in the UK. He made the call after Standard Life announced they were making plans to relocate out of Scotland in the event of independence.

Mr Rennie said:

"Standard Life is a major and high value Scottish company that we cannot afford to lose. As the First Minister has so far been unable to answer questions about the currency, Europe and regulation it means the best way to keep Standard Life in Scotland is to keep Scotland in the UK.

"The First Minister can no long treat this as a political version of Call my Bluff. This is now a matter of people's savings, pensions and jobs. This requires clear, straightforward responses from the First Minister instead of smart political rhetoric.

'He must surely be thinking he might be wrong and that all those who have questioned his plans on independence might be right."
