Following the announcement that six out of ten police control roomsAlison McInnesAlison McInnes are to close across Scotland, Scottish Liberal Democrat justice spokesperson Alison McInnes MSP said:

"This is shocking. In the space of five hours the network of frontline emergency control rooms around Scotland has shrunk to the central belt. The needs and views of communities to the north and south of Scotland have been ignored completely.

"Following hard on the heels of the fire board decision, hundreds of knowledgeable emergency control room staff now face a very uncertain future. Their skills and experience have been central to the success of our police and fire services and Kenny MacAskill should hang his head in shame."
