Leader of the Scottish Liberal Democrats, Willie Rennie MSP, has saidWillie RennieWillie Rennie that the momentum is behind his party's proposals of more powers for the Scottish Parliament. Following a call from Nicola Sturgeon today, Willie Rennie said:

"This new poll reveals that the Liberal Democrat plan for more powers is the most popular way forward for Scotland. With a consensus on more powers emerging the momentum is now behind our party's approach on new powers that should be delivered when Scotland opts to stay in the UK.

"Sir Menzies Campbell has published Liberal Democrat plans for more powers through Home Rule in a Federal UK. Think tanks, trade unions and academics have proposed similar plans like Devo More and Devo Plus. And Labour and the Conservatives are bringing forward their plans this year. The momentum is building for more powers with the Liberal Democrats leading the way in the centre ground.

"I am pleased Nicola Sturgeon is interested in this campaign for more powers. Should she lose the independence referendum she may want to join us to make it a great success."
