Commenting, Mr Rennie said:

"Bill Walker's refusal to vacate his seat is a flagrant insult to the parliament and to the taxpayer. No matter how far Bill Walker buries his head in the sand the voice of this parliament is clear: there is no place for wife-beaters in Holyrood.

"Over 70 MSPs have now signed my motion calling for Bill Walker to vacate his seat. He should reconsider his stance, listen to those in parliament and in his constituency, and vacate his seat with immediate effect."
