"It's easy to make uncosted announcements but the SNP's record for delivery speaks to the contrary. They have repeatedly rejected our costed and reasonable plans to extend free childcare to forty percent of two year olds, beginning with those from poorer backgrounds.

"People will judge the SNP's promises on what they do, not what they assert. Promising people the earth when they can't even deliver a basic increase in provision will ring hollow with many families."
