Commenting on an open letter sent from leading artists to the chairman of Creative Scotland, Scottish Liberal Democrat MSP and member of the Education and Culture Committee Liam McArthur said:

"This issue has been bubbling away for months now, with no sign that the problems are getting fixed.

"I have no desire to see the Cabinet Secretary second-guessing decisions on artistic merit, but she cannot simply wash her hands of any responsibility for finding a solution.

"I would urge the Cabinet Secretary for Culture to exercise her leadership and work with all parties to bring an end to this stalemate in our creative sector."
