Commenting on the latest employment and GDP figures released today, Leader of the Scottish Liberal Democrats Willie Rennie MSP said:

"Although unemployment has dropped again it will be of little comfort to the thousands out of work.

"The unemployment and GDP figures show that, like the rest of the UK, Scotland is not immune from global economic forces including the Eurozone.

"These figures show that it is even more vital for both the UK and the Scottish Government to work hand in hand on projects like the £1bn UK Youth Contract that helps young people find work and training opportunities."
